What Certifications I Have & How Can They Help YOU

I currently hold multiple certifications:

                Level 1 Precision Nutrition Coach

                Level 1 Crossfit Coach

                NASM Personal Training Certification

                Level 1 USA Weightlifting

 

Each certification stands on its own, but all together I believe they help make me a better coach. I’m always searching for more knowledge to help classes and clients better. Let’s walk through each certification.

 

Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach

My first big certification! I did this one before any other certification I hold. I looked at several different programs and decided I liked the approach that Precision Nutrition takes.

The main foundation of this program is changing behaviors around food and approaching nutrition in small doses rather than completely overhauling someone’s diet. Every diet and nutrition journey is unique to each person’s social, economic and mental situation. Precision Nutrition uses simple measuring methods where you don’t have to weight and measure everything you eat. They also don’t recommend rigid tracking of food but rather focus on the mental side of making habit-based changes to get results and build many habits over time.

 

Level 1 Crossfit Coach

This certification is needed to coach Crossfit classes at an affiliate. This course goes over the basic Crossfit movements. Methodology of Crossfit and basic nutrition. This is a great place to start if you want to coach, but learning from my fellow coaches has been the biggest advantage. I also went into this certification with many years of Crossfit under my belt. I hope to get my Corssfit Level 2 certification this year.

I love that Crossfit is for everyone- it truly is. Every movement and every class program can be scaled or modified for any fitness level and will always challenge and push you. I’ve done Crossfit through broken bones, coming back from medical issues and all kinds of life events. I’m here to help walk you through each class, movement and any goals you have.

 

NASM Personal Training Certification

This was one of the most challenging certifications I’ve done! This certification covers the mental side of fitness, the many parts of the human body, fitness movements and so much more. NASM is one of the most recognized personal training certifications.

One of the things I loved about the NASM course was learning about how to coach someone at any level. Much like nutrition, fitness and working out are different for everyone. This certification also helps me offer tailored programs outside of Crossfit for one-on-one support. I can help you with weight loss, strength and muscle growth, athletic performance and much more.

 

Level 1 USA Weightlifting

My boyfriend, Nick, and I decided to get our Level 1 USAW certification to have a better understanding of Olympic Weightlifting. In Crossfit, we regularly do all the Olympic lifts. This certification was to help have a better understanding of each part of the lift and how to help our clients and gym members become better and stronger lifters.

It’s also fun! While I love Crossfit, sometimes just lifting heavy weights is want I want to do! Nick and I love teaching people about all the benefits of weightlifting. Whether you just want to improve your form for lifts in Crossfit class or become an Olympic lifter- we can help you.
